Signing up and placing your first order

One account in the customer portal holds your services, your invoices and your support tickets. This guide takes you from signing up to your first running service.

1. Create your account

  1. Open the Register page and enter your name, your email address and a password.
  2. The password must be at least 12 characters long and must not match your username or email address.
  3. Confirm your address with the link we email you. The link is valid for 24 hours. A confirmed address makes sure proformas, invoices and important notices reach you.

It is worth turning on two-factor authentication straight away: it takes a few minutes, and from then on your password alone no longer opens your account.

2. Billing details

Before you order, fill in your billing details on the Profile page: country, postal code, city and street. Floor and door are optional. A company also needs its company name and tax number. If anything is missing, the portal takes you back to the Profile page at checkout.

Whether to order as an individual or as a company is covered in Ordering as an individual or as a company.

3. Place the order

On the Order page:

  • choose the plan and the billing cycle (monthly or annual; some plans are sold annually only),
  • for hosting, enter the domain your website will run on — it can be a domain you already own,
  • for hosting you can choose the web server, for a virtual server the operating system,
  • if you have a promo code, apply it here,
  • tell us whether you are ordering as a consumer or as a business, and accept the Terms of Service.

As a consumer you can separately request that performance begins within the withdrawal period. This is optional; it matters for how much is refunded if you withdraw later — see Cancellation and withdrawal.

Place the order with the Order with obligation to pay button.

4. Payment

When you order, we issue a proforma. If you pay by card, we send you to the secure payment page; for a bank transfer, the transfer details are on the order page. The options are described in Payment methods.

5. Your service is set up

Once the payment succeeds, setting up the service starts automatically and we email you. You can follow its status on the Services page. The invoice for the payment is issued automatically and can be downloaded any time from the Invoices page.
